I love how Tabitha tamed the overbearing pretentious “prick”.
Well, ok. So he’s not really that bad. A character that was vaguely portrayed as a jerk in prior novels, we now find Valerius’ bad manner and overall “prick-ish-ness” is a defense mechanism.
In Seize the Night, Kenyon is able to draw the reader into feeling differently towards Valerius. We now learn who Valerius is from his own perspective and it is assured that readers will be a wee bit surprised! While turning through the pages, one will experience bouts of pity and sadness for the Roman Senators son. But, you will also feel joy and redemption at the direction Kenyon takes this character, and at the person he becomes.
Tabitha? Well, she’s Tabitha. Eccentric, tough, determined, and maybe even a little wacky! This heroine will win the heart of a lost soul, but she is bound to win heart of the readers, as well!
As I’ve said many a time, “Kudo’s to Kenyon”! She is a master of the written word. Perfectly phrased settings, emotions, and events will bring to the reader a level of intensity that will be felt in the physical. Tears, anger, frustration…and, of course, love!

From the Publisher
Valerius isn't a popular Dark-Hunter. He's a Roman, which means that the largely Greek Hunters have a major grudge against him and his civilization for superceding them. To make things worse, he's very conscious of his aristocratic background and breeding. So it serves him right when he runs into Tabitha Devereaux. She's sassy, sexy, and completely unwilling to take him seriously. (Not to mention that she''s the twin sister of the wife of former Dark-Hunter Kyrian - Val's mortal enemy.) WhatTabitha does take seriously, is hunting and killing vampires and soon she and Val have to grapple with the deadliest of all Daimons-one who's managed to come back from the dead, and one who holds a serious grudge against both of them. To win against evil, Val will have to loosen up, learn to trust, and put everything on the line to protect a man he hates and a woman who drives him nuts.

See, I LOVED Valerius; Tabitha was the one I didn't like. Although he wasn't particularly "likeable", I thought that his character was very believable and stayed fairly true to form, in spite of everything.
I didn't like the pairing too much, but that's just my opinion. Kenyon isn't my favorite paranormal romance author.
Guess what? I gave you an award. Check it Out

Actually, Tiff. You're not the first I've hear that opinion from. An to be honest, I did find Tabitha a touch hard to appreciate. But, she wore on me. Something to do with her determination, I think,
Lisa & Callista, thank you both very much! Huggs!
